About Looks like something I might see from a Mars lander as it is coming to the surface...but nooo this is in Africa, Namib Desert shot from my friends small Private plane while the door was open. It used to be a parachute plane so the door is special and can fly while open...BONUS! Shooting through the windows tints the images to a very blue hue so this was a opportune situation.
We are flying along the west coast of Namibia here. From the furthest south to the north before zig zagging east and west over 5 days of camping in the desert under the wing on some sandy patch in the desert.

Oh Tim....can I dream to walk in your shoes for just one day in 2010! At least I can say I've flown (and did flips) in a bi-plane over canada once (damn...if I'd only had my camera back then!) Wonderful image AS ALWAYS! Happy New Year to you!

best flight I've taken ever was there but in a ballon, really great
excellent pic
PS: I'm in basque country right now

ah OK yeah well I personally have never blown anything up that big but one of the motels in town has several of my shots in all their rooms.. the last two they did were 60" wide on canvas and when I looked at em I got goosbumps... they were amazing.. really quite extraordinary.. I mostly only take mine up to 30" wide or high cos people dont freakin buy them cos the frames cost a fortune and that makes it hard for me to sell them... I have two super A3's and some smaller ones in a gallery at the mom it will be intereting to see how they go or if they do...

Correction the one i did last was a earlier posting of the desert and sea view from the air. ^0 in horizontal. I am thinking of including some of these large photo prints in a upcoming show I have for some of my paintings...will be interesting to see what the response will be, as these are done on stretched canvas.

Thanks Doug,

It was a mind blowing experience that I am still processing months later. I have at least a 100 gigs of untouched images from this trip. Hard to find the time to dig into them all still...might have to wait till I am in a wheel chair and dying of Old age first. All I want to do is go see more stuff and fly around the world some more. The images are just the by product of the adventures. Like molasses is made when they are creating sugar. I am glad I have them as a memory aid for past life experiences...but the past is gone, with the future there waiting. And so the dreams are still lingering, just needing the impetus to have the courage to explore yet again, regardless of present circumstances.

There you go again ripping apart my mind so pleasantly and in such an abstract way which I greatly enjoy even moreso 'after' I figure out what it is trying not to read your about beforehand!:))
