Thanks Kes,
It's a very photogenic site for "dark mood" images. There are understandably a lot of rumours and old wives tales about the grounds and buildings in the area being haunted.
The old Guild Inn used to be an upscale vacation resort until it was closed down during WWII and was then used for a War Vet's rehab hospital that cared for military personel. The patients were mostly shell shocked and traumatized. Not a nice place to be for a couple of years after WWII.

Thanks Allen,
When I was there a couple of weeks ago, the spring blooms were not out yet. All of the scenes seemed to suit B&W. The whole area will have a completely different flavour to it this week.

The entire grounds has a very soothing serene effect. It kind of naturally shows through in the images I think. I've attached a colour shot that shows the effects of the evening sun coming through the back of the scene.
