Narvik is in Norway, so the fish imported is from that city.
And Paul gave an answer:
Paul de Beukelaar Paris, France France {K:24968} 9/27/2010 Harry, local fisherman from Nørvik, Norway told me that such a catch happens just 1 in 10 million. Although some biologists do not agree, it seems to be a under species of "cod". Cod is the common name for genus Gadus, belonging to the family Gadidae, and is also used in the common name for various other fishes. The Atlantic cod, which "can change color" at certain water depths, has two distinct color phases: gray-green and reddish brown. Some migrate to warm water in winter to spawn. A "large female" lays up to five million eggs in midocean, a very small number of which survive. These fish are three times the size of their eastern counterparts and are darker in color, in rare cases even "purple"
Hope that this helps to bring more light into the mystery, cheers, Paul
