Hi there Doyle, thank you for your thoughtful comment. Even although time has inevitably marched on I still think of Ian every day. A piece of music or a certain memory clicks into place and eyes become wet.

Ah Mary, thank you so much for your thoughtful and understanding comment sweetie. I promised Ian I would be with him right to the end and I held his hand as he passed.

Ray, I am so sorry for your loss. Although your brother could not communicate at the end, I am sure he understood and appreciated your presence and your love.
Now, give yourself some time to rest. Hopefully, your memories of happy times with Ian will, in time, replace your sadness.

I'm so sorry to read this, Ray. Losing a brother in these circumstance, any circumstances realy, is so tragic. He looked very much like you, so that until reading this sad news I thought it was a self-portrait. I lost my Rachel three years ago now, after 2-3 years of lung-cancer, I know the feeling.
May he, indeed, sleep peacefully.
