About	This is one of many recovering birds at the Springbrook Nature Center in Itasca, IL. The staff brings out the birds for my camera club and me to photograph. We all donate to the efforts to put these birds back into the wild.

These are the bird's real colors. The background was caused because the bird is being held (teathered) about 8-10 feet from any real background (trees). I used fill flash to catch some light in the eyes. I used negative flash compensation (-1.5) and that causes whatever light there is to drop off from the subject at a tramendous rate. That is why the background goes black. Not my wishes, I wanted the birds to be closer to the natural tree background, but then they try to fly to much. Thanks for the comments.

Mark is that its real colors? If so its amazing looking bird. It looks like you have added the black background and I think if the edges were sharper it would add more to the presence of the bird...regards roger
