Simple and effective. The canyons and hills are gflistening in the evening light, complete with folliage. Any reason for placing the dark side of the tree on the side of the larger empty space? Works well, but doesn't seem the natural choice.

Excellent light and detail on the trunk. The image attracted my attentiion because I just shot some 'trunk scapes' myself this evening... As I am still shooting on film I don't know the result yet, but I will be happy if they come out as good as this one :)
