I like this a lot. It doesn't bother me that you have cropped the tips of the feathers. As Mary said, it's a bold statement. Love the touches of blues to contrast the fiery reds. Good work!

I kind of liked the nipped ends here - it is a brave comp choice probably not one that I would have made. The lighting is wonderful and the feathers look like they are aflame. Could be the phoenix...

Marion, excellent detail and composition. I think the combination of the blue and red lighting adds an extra dimension to this, however the croping of the tips just spoils it a little for me.
