Bill, I think this is the best of the three. The lower angle looks much better. I like the way he is set in between the ferns and the reeds in the background. I know the bird is the main subject but I really like those colorful reeds with the beautiful shades of reds and greens. I think a shot of just the reeds, with the right light, could be a stand alone image. Nice work.

I am very impressed with the captures of this bird. As I said in a previous comment, I like the natural setting that you have captured and the colors of the grasses in the background. Well Done!

I've been trying to capture images of birds lately and understand the challenge! This bird is very unique - pretty colors, and vivid.
I wonder if you cropped a little off the top and right side if the bird might show up a little better. I'm hesistant to offer suggestions as a fairly new photographer, especially with digital.
