Great job to make these tree alive. It feels dark and moody, yet at the same time the lightness of the tree trunks relieve those fears. A very inspiring image. (9)

Nice composition and tonality. I like the use of the reflections as well.

Digital darkroom is almost as good as the real thing!
Great shot Joffre. Your photo makes me dream of the days in the future where I may see such plants myself, and perhaps try a shot like this.

Gentlemen, Thank you for the kind remarks! After scanning, PS was used to increase contrast globally, then certain shadow areas were burned-in and the tree trunks slightly dodged to further manipulate contrast locally. Some slight burning in of canopy. Otherwise, no changes to scan.

Joffre... Did you dodge this in the darkroom? Great print!

Steve, Thanks for the compliment! As for similarities to Clyde Butcher, I'm sure that it's limited to the fact that both of us shoot in Florida! He does some really cool stuff which I've admired for some time.

Very nice and moody. Reminds me a little of Clyde Butcher.
