Thanks for your comments. It's been so long on this one, I don't remember the specifics, but I did play around with toning on this in PS. It was taken at Fort Adams in Newport, RI (That part I do remember :)

very nice effect with the mist. of course only works if you live somewhere where there's a lot fo mist and fog. lucky for you! what about the colours? it looks partly desaturated, or is this just a naturally grey looking shot? where did you take this one?

Thanks Michael for your suggestion. The funny thing is, on my monitor, this looks nothing like dirty gray, or gray at all. It is much bluer in tone. I find my flatscreen monitor always makes things look darker and more contrasty. I looked at this on my regular work office monitor, and it does look grayer and duller than at home. I guess thats why I like the flat monitors. They make things look sharper, crisper and more colorful.

Marvelous shot! If it were mine, I think I would make it a touch less "dirty gray"--while retaining the misty fog quality. I took a crack at it in Photoshop (see below). Nice work. Congrats..:)
