I love images like this - making something out of nothing. It forces the viewer to take in all the tiny details, such as the way that rivet intrudes into the arrow. Why didn't they paint that red too? And the guide lines drawn in to make sure it was painted straight. Brilliant! I don't think you need 'tension' when a picture makes you look at something in a different way.

I think that you need to add something to this image to make it stand out, whether it be tension or something else. To me, this doesn't do anything. It's pretty static.
But who knows, maybe it's just me!

No flash used ! Must be light reflected fron the footpath judging by the position of the bright patch.

I think you could have done a lot with this image to create some tension, but it's lost, since the arrow is dead centre, and I can see flash reflected on the plywood. Try this again, try different angles... create tension, aprehension...
