Hello Sarah. This is a nice picture. I think your viewpoint was very well selected. The wide angle view helps to create a nice lead into the picture with the excellent rendition of the railings taking the eye inwards. As for blue sky... You must have added that in photoshop. I think I have only seen one sunny day this summer. :)

The cloud formation is attractive here. A worthwhile enhancement in these situations is a polarising filter. You did very well to hold as much detail as there is in the shadows. Nice work with good front to back depth of field.

Very nice shot, its a pretty part of the world you live in. I see what you mean re- the loss of shadow detail you mentioned in your comment on my last shot. Have you played around with the levels in photoshop or whatever program you use. Dont use the auto levels they tend to clip the shadows darker but if you manually adjust you you can pull back some of the darkness.
