About walked out the door from my family room and this guy was heading for home. He stopped and I took this shot handheld, using spot metering, the background is blown out by direct sunlight.

I think I can see your picture in this little critter's eye. Nice work, Jim

So lovely! And how beautiful eyes! I don't mind the blown out background, I actually find it interesting with white for a change on animal shot! The cropping of the tail I would have prefered un cropped though. But a really great capture and excellent details!

Jim; you did a good job of salvaging what I suspect was pretty much a silhouette. When you have time, please take a look at my boat basin reflection pics as I started turning them "right side" at your suggestion, and then found that I really liked the effect. Cheers. Craig

This is great Jim, such great detail for being in the shadows. Great work. Don.

A great capture and presentation. A pity the whole tail is not shown.

Ronnie:
I cleaned up some of the foreground around his feet but the background was totally blown out. the shutter was rather slow because this side was in the shadows.

Jim, looks fairly sharp for hand held. Since the sun was shining I assume you had a fast shutter speed. Also looks like you put out a little effort getting rid of the background. I like the way you left that small cirle by his feet, gives a floating effect.
