Thank you for your comment. It led me to your portfolio and I just couln't believe my eyes. Your are so gifted with portraiture - something I am not good at - that my mouth fell. You really succeed at capturing the very essence of one's personnality and temporary mood, and at freezing in time those many elusive moments that fill our lives.
Moreover, you sure do know what composition, lighting, DOF, and all other technical/artistic aspects of picture-making are all about.
I agree with those who find this one photo a bit too grainy perhaps. Yet, I chose it among all your great jobs for my first comment to you as I could not resist the special warmth and goodness this woman radiates. And I also love the soft warm colors of this picture.

Hi, Debra! you've commented on my stuff so it's really about time i added you to my friend's list and made my way over to your portfolio. i have been here before though, and have often admired your portraits. i agree with others who have marveled at your ablity to capture such warmth and genuine presence in your subjects. This one really caught my eye, as it has done many others. The first thing i saw as the image rolled out was the boy's face and i worried about him as he seemed a bit suspicious, but then i saw the woman and i knew all was well. She really makes me feel like sitting down and just chuckling the night away. i love her hand so much, how her fingers are spread with such natural expression. She is so sensual, so natural with all her colors and her ample flesh. The walls and their own colors add to the deep rich earthy feeling of the image. About the only thing i wish for a just a little bit less PS texture. i agree that texture adds nice warmth and flatness but for my own taste it's just a wee bit too much. Overall, really wonderful image, Debra..thanks so much for your comment on Swoon..i laughed right out loud that it makes you feel like you're in your computer..haha..i think you need to shut that baby off and go take a rest. That was the funniest thing i've read in quite awhile, thanks for your refreshing attitude! best regards: kat~

Debra, Being able to shot good portraits is a gift. Your portfolio spells you have plenty of that gift to interact with your subjects.
The expression on this lady's face is one of pure pleasure.
To my eye, the picture is a tad soft, maybe a slight increase in contrast will do the job.
