About I felt sorry for the gentleman on the left as he seemed to be getting an ear-bashing from the other. He looks distinctly uncomfortable.

I recognized this as yours before reading the the info and this I think is a good thing - a definition that your personal style is firmly in place. I love how the "listener" is leaning in towards the speaker, but compensates by closing his eyes making me wonder what he is really thinking about.

This is reality. You've captured a moment of life here...no fake poses or planned compositioning. This shot has so much energy and I think that's what I dig about it. Even with his eyes closed you can tell the young man is irritated. Great work!

I like the B&W, the expression and the composition ....

Ah, the pain of it -- having to listen to people's stories all day and half the night. I empathize with the man, I really do.

And you've caught it splendidly. I like the pointed fence tops on either side of the gabbing man -- my twisted mind wants one of them to leap and turn and go through him . . .

But he'd probably just keep on talking ;)

At first I thought maybe less dof would be good, but no, your tones are strong enough to keep the foreground distinct. And I think your framing here is excellent, with that space between them dead-cneter. It's that space that the photo's about, I think.

Wonderful photo, David....the closed eyes make this shot for me!

Uncomfortable or maybe bored? My first instinct when looking at this photo was to suggest that tilting the camera down or zooming it in would be better, as the two subjects would occupy more of the frame. But upon closer inspection, I think I like it better as is. There's something slightly cinematic about it, like it's a storyboard from the life of one of these two men.

I only wish the man on the left had his eyes open! I think his reaction would be more accurately conveyed if they were. Good job - in fact, I enjoyed looking at all the different personalities in your portfolio.
