Greg...this is stunning...just like every one of your other images! I am a Formula 1 fan myself(i dont follow much oval track racing) and i noticed one thing about the pictures in most of the F1 magazines - all the photographers seem to use Velvia (and that too rated at 40). I was wondering whether you could enlighten me on how they manage to get high enough shutter speeds, even in bright daylight. Granted they use fast(expensive!!) lenses, and when panning you use speeds of only about 1/60(?)s, but i have seen action freezing pictures taken at 1/1000th of a second @ f 5.6 with a 400 mm lens...handheld, or on a monopod! In similar lighting conditions (reasonably bright) my camera wouldnt let me use 1/1000 s @ f 5.6 (entry level 75-300 zoom @ 300mm) with ISO 100 film. What am i missing here?

Yes. The film was pushed 2 stop in order to compensate for the low light levels.

Nice capture. I guess these might be called PSE cars (Parts Scattered Everwhere). Did you push it to compensate for the low light areas of the grand stands?
