Yep, *much* better without the SFX. As was already mentioned, you did catch a wonderful, fleeting moment. With looks like that, I bet she has people wrapped around her little finger, just like my young niece...
I'd maybe expose differently to soften the blown highlights and blur the busy background a bit, but they're just little distractions from an otherwise great candid shot.
(By this point, if it were my niece, I would have already given in and be opening the freezer to give her yet another ice cream...)
