This really is outstanding. The capture makes it, but you've done excellent work with the comp and toning. Wonderful!

Must confess, I get a different sense from this image than most everyone else. There's something in the sepia tint, her upturned face and steadfast gaze, and the bandana that brings to mind a turn of the century Lower East Side street waif -- although the suburban background certainly belies that idea. In any event, it's a captivating image that speaks with charm and charisma. --Jim

Ein sehr natuerliches Kinderportrait, das nicht durch ein buntes Image abgeschwaecht wird.
Gruss Gerhard

A little pirate! She's beautiful. I love the way she's looking up at you, and her eyes and mouth are more or less cooperating, but a bit saying, "Another picture!?!?!" (I'm imagining this, my kids are always complaining about my picture taking:)

Good work!

Love the look! And thanks for what you did on the Hands in her backpocket picture. It was my favorite of all the suggestions. I wish I could do things like that.

Great capture of her natural pose, she looks like a tomboy and proud of it and you?ve caught the essence of that. You can make that digital really sing. You seem to see beyond the wow of the digital and come up with some really great compositions. I?m groovin? on the gameroom wheel, colors are great but the composition is the draw for me. You have a good eye and the immediacy of digital takes experimenting into a whole new realm (I?m not bashing film, really). You can try something out, see the results, adjust, change the angle... hell, you can take 50 shots of something and throw out the bad ones in the blink of an eye. Really good shooters though will get the shot right the first time (just like film) and I think you?re getting there. Oh, did I mention that I like your choice of colors here, subtle but interesting. I gotta get my digital out again, soon.
