Ken, fantastic scenery and a great picture. I would like to go there one time !!!
Answerring your question, the picture was taken this summer at Paris, the Pyramide-glas-entry of the museum "La Louvre". Best wishes from Holland...Taco.

Ken,

Good capture of the caynon, my only quip is that you cut off the top of the caynon. The image looks squished to me as it needs more head room.

Ken--
1. This is a wonderful shot. The way the striations in the rocks seem to become clouds is most breath-taking. (Just the right amount of sky, by the way.)

2. Thanks again for your thoughtful responses in the forum on ratings. Anthony's comments were right on the mark, too. I raised the question in the first place because I saw a harsh comment on a picture by someone who turned out to be a real neophyte. It had to be discouraging and even unintentionally hurtful.

3. A few years ago, my wife and I toured Ireland by car and were completely entranced. Even though we had taken only a point-and-shoot film camera, we ended up with some terrific photos. Can't wait to go back and do some serious photography!

Thanks

--George

Thankyou Ray. I wanted this way to make the canyons more intense. I also have similar pic. with the sky on. But it dilutes the canyon. Now, in this your eyes are boxed in to the canyon. Regards, ken.

Excellent color and composition. It seems to me however, that including a bit more sky might help a little. The top of the ridge in the center top of the image seems to be jammed up against the top of the photo, perhaps even cut off a little. I tend to do this kind of thing myself quite often, and have to make a consious effort to sometimes include a little more than I think necessary when taking the photo. Sometimes I take 2 or more photos of the same scene with slightly different cropping in order to make sure I have everything I need when I start working on the pic. Its a whole lot easier to crop a little out after the fact, than to add something in which isn't there. Just some random thoughts. Good Work!!

Ken - It truly is an amazing place and a difficult one to do justice to on film(or digital) - well done
