I like this shot!I like all what others don't.I know what means really misty day. Here it's so usual. This autumn we have not seen the sun and blue sky last five weeks!I have to stop my photographing?!You can learn some usual truths about shooting photos, but camera is in yours hands and there is your soul and eyes! It's not difficult to play with colors and great panorams, but in B/W photo you have to attract not eyes ,but something behind the eyes and between the ears and something you never see ,but only feel!Be strong ,be yourself!

To all,

I posted this for reference... I think I hear the consensus. Yes, the right side is blown out. I did not do this intentionally, it was what it looked like. The fog was so heavy on this river it did not allow any sight beyond 5 feet over the river and twenty on the bank. It was strange to say the least. I wasn't sure if this photo showed what I saw that day, and so I posted to get an opinon. Needless to say I guess the consensus is that It doesn't work. I think I'm going to re submit this as a crop and see what happens. Thanks for the comments. They are always much appreciated!

To be brutally honest, and I usually am, the right half of the image is too bright. You need to check the neg, if there is detail on the neg it can be printed in, ie burning in during printing. If there is no detail on neg then you should think about your original exposure onto the film, maybe you are not exposing for shadow detail and processing for highlight detail.
Also the small branch in foreground is not an effective element, something else in foreground would better add depth to the image.
Be honest with yourself and seriously critique your own work by questioning the result, did I convey to the viewer what I meant to convey? Is this print the best possible print I can create from this neg? If this is not "right" how can I do better? Should I reprint? Should I reshoot? etc, etc.
