This is East Berlin ,the other face of the town (you can easly see the west new part in Arrey's Pics). Exactely this is Karlshort, an area where the buildings are still those ones of the cold war. I hope they'll remain to witness and let us always breeth the history.
I also think Berlin has sad sides, but I love it even for that reason. Here you can breath the history and you feel never alone. Maybe because Berlin is my dream city.
berlin has many faces, but most of them are brutal or sad. to me, 60 years after the end of war, berlin still remains a city crippled by war, destruction and the decades of separation. at karlshorst where soviet officers were housed, a very special charme of abandonement and decay remains...even 10 years after their withdrawal.
Beautiful, Katia. Like what I see in movies. When I see this i try to figure what may have happended around it in the past. I hope one day you or Arrey put some picts of people form Germany, girls, boys, kids, Old man, Old woman. I love things like this.
