I have to say thanks again to all who commented.
I'm actually suprised at the number of comments, because this was taken with my poorest(in terms of 'photodo's' tests)lens. At 300mm, acording to some reports on the web, this lens is quite soft. I, however, have always found it to be OK. I supose it just goes to show, that some lens tests are to be taken with a pinch of salt!!
Sarah.

I agree, super sharp image. And 400 speed film to boot. Flowers look better in a black border in my opinion. The lime green may take away some attention. Still, a nice shot here.

Wow, the thumbnail does not do justice to the picture. I like the sharpness of the subject and the way the light and shadows play on the leaves. As for the background, i feel it is sufficiently blurred, but the two dominant colors and the demarcation makes it distracting..also the old leaf(?) in the lower right corner. How about a picture from a lower viewpoint where the tips of the leaves on the top are visible...that might take away more of the pinkish part of the background too. The frame works well with the image. Keep them coming... cheers AM

Thanks for the comments Guys.
I will try it again sometime with less DOF. Arrey, Is it the green frame which you didn't like. I've altered it a bit, but I like the green.

I share Aiman Nassar about this shot.
Try to get a different Frame for it.

Sarah, I like the sharpeness of the Yucca leaves, nice reflections of the edges, but I think the backgfound is taking something away of the main focus of the graphic movement of the leaves. A bit shallower depth of field I think would have helped to bring out the contrasts of the light edges against the dark green. But still it is a nice shot
