Charlie, I have said for years that photograph is simply lines and light....great, simple, but powerful composition.

jorel, thank you very much for your extensive comment. if you knew me a little better you would surely know that the last thing i want to convey with my pictures is a feeling of danger. in fact i am out for pictures behind pictures. the things and details and compositions we pass by unnoticed every day. beauty is in there as you can also see from the pictures of > masahiko shibata in absolute perfection.
what i can see though is that by zooming in on details unseen, a new world opens up and that appears unusual and might be a little scary now and then. maybe like going to a foreign country for the first time? not speaking the language, encountering another way of writing, different type of buildings, habits, manners...
please be assured i never, ever intent to scare or frighten anybody.

if you want to see such pictures go to the portfolio of >>> robin mcaulay. he is digging into our hidden feelings, anxieties, exploring the unknown around and within ourselves.

after i wrote all of this i looked up your portfolio (one picture only? where is the rest for a karma of 327?). you are talking of a feeling of danger in pictures of matter? and you deliver a picture of such a spooky nature adjoined by an even spookier fairy tale? man, we must hear and see more of you to believe what's behind you!

cheer up and let us talk more about aspects of feeling pictures can convey.
thank you and best regards

I'll give you a not-specific-only-about-this-picture comment if you don't mind... In fact, it's more about all those lines you've posted recently (should I call them a series ?)... I used to think that it's usually quite hard to make an interesting abstract composition with casual or candid random things but I think you're doing it quite well and, what's probably more important to me in that particular case, with consistency... And about this one in particular now, it's quite strange because although I recognize what it is and I perfectly know what's it's meant to be, it's giving me a feeling of danger like I never have had before... Will I eventualy still feel like this whenever I come accross one of these ? I hope not !!

Iteresting picture, with strong lines and shadows, and with goos texture too.
Good work.

PS: my "taxi time" picture was made in Ponta Delgada, Azores Islands, Portugal.
Regards.

I like the three divisions in this shot, also how the stripes are starting to turn blue.
Very distinct edges of color. Well done

boas sombras. ficaram lindas.

na minha foto simplesmente usei uma velocidade alta (acho que deveria ter usado ainda mais alta). e muita paciência para conseguir o momento certo. muito obrigado pelas dicas, vou colocar em prática e depois mando a foto para você ver!
