Hi Naty:
You are 100 percent correct about the foreground -- it was Bosch. I've been a fan since I discovered his work in the mid-60s on an album cover, a group called "Pearls Before Swine" which was fronted by a singer-songwriter named Tom Rapp. I believe he's now an environmental layer in Washington, DC. Anyway, one of the things I'm constantly exploring with PS is ways to recreate some of Bosch's demons using photographic elements.
The inspiration for the clock was a little bit Leonardo, and a little bit Tim Burton. For some reason, I just wanted to see if I could create skeletons dancing in different poses around a clock face, with a parady of Leonardo's famous image of the perfectly proportioned man at the center, telling time with his outstretched arms. --jim

Weird, bizarre, and surreal even by your strange standards Jim. Is it good that you have taken some time away from UF? Are you refreshed abd ready to mess with peoples minds? Welcome back. I agree this is sort of scary too. Significantly, the watch center (w/ Roman numerals as usual) is warped and shifted left. Boy is this strange-- but well done! It's back to nightmare time again-- now that McNitts back;>) Cheers. Craig. PS, I can send you some mushrooms.....er toadstools in your case that would fit right into your compositions.

Great to see you back!!! I like this one very much. Great attention to detail (particularly shadows on watch dial and the very smooth transition of the craw-maid) gives this a very realistic feel--perhaps lighting not quite as consistent on the latter but this is a tiny thing. The background is perfect for the mood. Dark view of woman but a very effective piece, Jim. Patti

I can only hope that this will be a series. I like the looks of this. So many facets. The sky is powerful, The ground, well it just has that look. The smooth transition of the female legs to the upper of a lobster(well done). The skeletons on the pocket watch dail is great. I don't imagine that there is any great significance to the dial is without it's movement and still having the hour hand intact, and the second hand pinion is in its perspective place. A fine piece Jim!
