Hello Teunis, this is a really good natural still-life, without any PS-manipulations, I like it very much! - Pia

I'll possibly get flamed to heck and back for this but hopefully these comments will be taken for the constructive criticism they are intended to be.
I think that the on camera flash really isn't working in this image. The hotspots and harsh shadows created by the flash detract from the interest of the varied subject matter.
I'm also not too sure about the selected DoF nor the composition. It feels a bit too cluttered in my opinion. The leaf in the lower frame is distracting as it is so light and out of focus.
Forgive me, but this feels like a passing snapshot and I think there's much more potential in the subject.

Beautiful composition and I like the so many different and warm colours. However I agree with Tony Sallman about the shells not fitting in the scene That's the disturbing things, really Very nice shot, though, Teunis Regards

Teunis; a really nice colorful autumn photo. I really like the colors and composition. I do think in this type of photo should be a little sharper though and maybe a little more DOF too. Still very nice though. I see you have Amanits in your country too.

You have captured the beautiful rich colours of the chestnut. I think I would have removed a lot of the debris around the two main chestnuts to concentrate my eye more firmly on them. regards Marie

I enjoy setting up this kind of autumny scene too so I pay particular attention to this kind of photo on use film. It's very time-consuming and challenging deciding what objects to include,in what position,on what kind of background, the lighting, camera position and thinking about which colours combine and in which pattern/sequence.Wow,isn't photography comlicated-maybe that's why it's so absorbing.Anyway,I do like the conkers in this photo and the connecting orange leaf. The bits of shell just don't fit into this scene at all and the big conker up on the left is something of a distraction;it doesn't add anything to the composition at all.On the whole I find this photo just too busy.I think simplicity is the key to this kind of subject.Anyway, keep shooting this kind of scene,it's fun and we all improve with practice-I hope so,I've almost completed a roll of 36 shots like yours and I'm hoping 3 or 4 come out well.
