About When she was at one of the lowest points of her treatment, a friend asked that I do some portraits of her, hoping that they might provide some inspiration and encouragement for other women struggling with breast cancer. This was one of my favorites from that session. I think it conveys a little of her courage and beauty in the midst of the struggle.

The good news is that the treatments are over, and she has since made a strong recovery.

(BTW, I deliberated about the crop of this shot, and decided to keep a lot of space at the top, symbolizing what my friend needed to feel at that time.....room to heal, grow, and soar.)

What can I say more?
Very sad story behind a very good portrait.
But indeed, words can't describe it.
Touching!
Regards.

Excellent shot, David! I like the contrast here between the little smile on her face and the bald head ... not to talk about what has happened inside her head! A strong woman!

David - the open honesty of your portrait is wonderful. I suspect that most of us become too driven to take 'pretty' pictures only to miss opportunities such as this one. Please keep up the good work and wish you friend well for us all. John B
