They look so proud standing out contrasted against the mountain. They are a lovely colour and you have captured their detail well. Very pretty. MAry

Hey Dave, I've been missing your posts around here... you need to upload some more images so I can comment on them! I found one here that I missed the first time through though... Great use of foreground to really make this have impact. I bet it would have looked nice as well, with John's suggestion but I also like how it breaks the boundary of the mountain... adds a new level to the shot. Really great lighting on the fireweed as well, and I like how the sky has a subtle hint of that same colour. Gotta love Velvia!

Now this is a different flower image. Striking and best of all it's in a natural setting without that artificial black background.

The colours are simply gorgeous with the plants so crisp in detail.

Dave...I read your bio and then looked at your portfolio. You are clearing makeing progress and your art is getting much better! I like this image a bit more than your earlier fireweed one. Maybe its because the flowers are more clearly the subject than the mountain/sky. Compositionally, I would have moved a tad to the left to get the left flower fully infront of the mountain. In fact if I had thought about it, I would move it under the tallest peak (or just to the left a bit) so that the relative flower heights follow the ridge line of the peak. Still a good shot though. Gotta love fireweed. I also like letting the mountain go out of focus- John B
