When you're shooting sunsets, its a great time to play around with exposures. Shoot a little and then a LOT underexposed and see what you get. Heck, it's digital so there's no film costs. ;)

The critical point about digital is that overexposed information is LOST information. Those pixels have reached max capabability, and nothing you can do will bring detail back to those areas. Underexposed shots, however, CAN be fixed.

I am one of those people here who really appreciate when photographers take time to say something about WHY they took the shot, or how they made it look that way. We're all on this journey together, after all.

Steven, you are definately improving - especially in composition. You can see upon inspection of the photo that your focus is good. The color and composition are also both very nice. This is truly a keeper! Looks like you are starting to get the hang of that 5700! Nice work!!! Regards, Dan
