Toscana, that's where I was. My mother is still there. Aspen. Do you know a tree called aspen? It has roundish leaves. in the Autumn they turn an extreme yellow. They are famous in the Highlands. Because they quiver. They quiver and tremble. Constantly. they make a quivering concert. They are NEVER silent. They look very fragile. I came back from Tuscany with too much pizza in my belly (I always have to ruin it havent I? And I was doing so well with the quivering.......ah ah a) but a soul like an aspen leaf. This immediately makes me think of a sand pattern when the water shrinks back. Have you ever walked barefooted on such pattern? it is so nice for the soles of your feet.

die struktur erinnert mich an die muster, die der wind in den flugsand von wanderdünen malt. seinen festen platz wird kein sandkorn jemals finden.

Inventive. Original. Thought provoking. The square composition is appropriate and works very well.

An intriguing abstract image, with great texture and tones. I like the top third and
bottom two -thirds division. Good work! (-:

Hi Fabio, I like the highly defined structure and the use of the mirrored part of the photo. Great shot; wonder how you made this...

Thanks for your comment on Ruined History part III. I'm afraid you made a very appropriate point. Apart from the religions without believers, there's also such a thin about preserving landmarks and culture for prosperity. Tourism does have it's advantages; when money becomes involved, people tend to take better care (and respect) of artefacts and landmarks that they grew up with and consider to be common, whereas for those interested it might be beautiful, intriguing and meaningful. The zoroastrian temples still play a very important role these days; The fire temple in Yazd is very well preserved, and still in use, as is the influence of the religion clearly visible in Persepolis, and not to mention Chak Chak, the pilgrimage venue about 90 km outside Yazd. These temples of silence however show us the other side.....

Cheers,

Hugo

the texture reminds me of an elephant's skin and the seam lines make me think that you found a place in a magazine that you want to try and find...

good conceptual work... :)
