Lovely scene - love the toning!! Compositionally, I do think that you might consider cropping off some of the bottom

Very, very nice composition and lighting, Lou! I do think I like the lighter version just slightly more, but I wouldn't have really noticed without having them side by side on my screen.

I like the "layering" in this photo - the horses in foreground, then fence, then the beautifully backlit trees.

I've noticed how so many of my photos are 1-dimensional by comparison (more like "graphic arts?") -- I'm going to try to look out for this sort of thing and try my hand at the layering.

Is this bucolic Howard County?? :-)

Best regards,
SteveR

Dan, you asked to see a lighter version of this picture. Actually, I chose to have more of a silhouette on the original, but I did play with a lighter version that retained more detail in the horses. There are so many decisions to make when processing an image, and there are many suitable choices for most. Let me know if you like this one better.

Lou . I like the Sepia tones but i think the picture s a bit under exposed. Beautiful composition and subject though. I would like to see more detail in the shadows. Its very hard to pull off due to the angle of the sun here.
