About A PS experience...this scene captured on a cloudy sunday seemed to be better in B&W... If I had chosen I?d loose the colored juice that made look to that retired man resting in Parque da Luz (Light?s Park) in São Paulo city..So, I decided to try both: colors and B&W..
This man illustrastes me the concept of being alone.. although there were many people around.. isn?t it sad?
All comments will be appreciated.

To Jorge (Uf 14169)who hates florals...but has captured retired people mood very well.
To Márcio Costa (photographer 22258), my dear partner and PS teacher..

very nice selective desaturation Carmen; I like the composition out of rules with centered man, it has been the right choice; the DOF too is quite right

Very well done. P.S. Em breve estarei de volta... ;O)

Very nice, Carmem! And interesting, both your colouring and the mood. Instead of loneliness I feel that they are waiting for something.

Ps. Thanks for your message under the little brazilian bees. I didn't know they excisted, it was very interesting to read.

Hi Carmen, Not sure... Do you refer to my suggested crop when you say you disagree? or to my comment on "works fine...." (referring to the reply to option...;o) If you disagree with the crop I made, I think I should elaborate a bit. I think that placing the man off center increases the tension a bit, but leaving enough space for him on the right. It goes without saying, that there's no wrong nor right in this case, Photography is very subjective....

If you are referring to the reply to option, I do also like to reply in another photo... But at times, it is useful.

Cheers, and keep up the good work!

Hugo

Hi Carmen, Thanks for your comment. I thought of cropping a bit off the top and the left side. Not quite proportional to the original 35 mm negative, but that is also very well possible. See attached....;-)

It's different and a style often used for commercials and it can also work with any subject. Though personally I would go for either B&W or color but not mixed. The way you did it is very good. Regards, Rob.

Hi Carmen, I like the use of selective colours. Good shot and DOF. Well composed too. I think you could've cropped it a bit tighter, to focus on the man with the orange fizz a bit more.

Cheers,

Hugo

Excellent use of black and white combined with color. It really makes the man in the forefront stand out. It makes it feel 3 D. Wonderful capture.
