Roger...this is not a macro. This lens is a normal 24/120 mm on digital and at max telephoto,while doing a close-up opens up at f 5,6 so it focuses on the center and blurs the rest. Unfortunately I have to explain this each time...I do have a 55 micro but it works only on older manual cameras without cpu. With that lens you can close up at f 22 and mounted on tripod it gives a real macro ( of course of a single flower ). I have,though,a 28/300 mm Tamron with a macro mode ( not 1:1 ! ). I made a few shots with it and it's not that bad,only you must give more sharpening in post-processing. Great for casual shooting and light to carry.

Beautiful BEAUTIFUL macro. Love the delicate colours and the off-beat composition (looks almost as if it has been loaded on its side!). I must say I don't care too much for the out-of-focus area at the right-hand edge of the shot. Looks like the dreaded "double edged" bokeh! Not much you can do about that, of course, except perhaps apply Gaussian softening to it.
