Hey Gabrielle!

This is a pretty good shot but I think you could have made it a bit more interesting by getting closer and shooting sections. This is a part of photography that I'm still trying to get a handle on myself. You seem to be much further along, though. Your "Dog's Eye" piece is proof of that!

But, in this picture if you had been closer and shot say...a corner of the building, or a corner of the window with the ivy growing...I think that would have been very interesting.

You've got a great portfolio working here, I think. You should look at some of the competitions in your area. The Durham Arts Center has one going now (I've got 4 pieces that are showing there) and then there's the Visual Arts Exchange in downtown Raleigh. They've got one coming up soon. Contact me at jay@jpmcginnisphotography.com and I'll get you some more details.

Hi Gabrielle, a very mice image, I think I've been to Harmston, but not to this particular house ;-)

One or two small things which might have made the image just a little cleaner (hope you don't mind).

The crop has just shaved the corner off the grass at the bottom, always try and ensure that there are no 'snips' at the edges of a frame.

By stepping right just a little you may have been able to get a better line in for the driveway, and that bush on the left would then not dominate the left hand side quite so much.

Regards

Keith
