About Every spring in Echo Park the lotus return to life. By summer one whole end of the lake is covered in lush vegetation and beautiful blooms. This is a shot from early spring when the leaves are first emerging. i also really like the palm reflection in the lower right .

A great pic. This picture reminds me of a print called 'Three Worlds' by MC Escher. This photo has a powerful stillness and is made more mystical with the absence of colour.

This is a beautiful B/W composition Michael. The contrasting shapes of the straight trees and lovely lotus leaves with the fantastic reflection, especially since you caught the top of the palms in the reflection, make a very delicate serene image. Looks like an amazing place to sit and while away the hours. (ps..yes I am sorry I forgot to mention I isolated the greenery and tweaked the colour saturation in Digital Image as it became a little washed out in the cropping, glad you liked it and thanks for your comment) ..Christine

Lovely photo. I like the way the small stone wall cuts the view into two unique shots. Very impressive!

Thank you for creating another veiw of my photo. I think this looks great. I haven't learned how to do anything in P.S. except adjust the contrast. Now I think I have to start learning.

Thanks

Hi Michael,

this is the first photo which inspired me to use any effects in PS, 'cause I was on the first view a little bit disappointed that the combination of palms & lotus can be only in the bottom, so I played a bit in PS.

I hope it is ok for you?

Cheers,
Verena

The contrast of shapes, ranks of straight up-and-down tree trunks above, rounded, flat leaves spread out horizontally below, is fascinating. The reflections, of course, add depth and echo the upper part, supplying the missing tops to the trees. Very impressive, Michael! I just wish I could see it in stereo...
