The unusual aspect, the thrust of the subject's jaw and lack of competing background clutter make this image very powerful.

Nice and expressive portrait and unusual angle. It works nicely, IMO. Did you try it b&w? Good work, regards, Alex
PS; thanks for your previous comments to my pics... I was away for a while... hope to be able to visite "usefilm" more often fron now.

So interested in the argument you can till from strong face expression, to me a bit tight crop,`cos this is a documentary report rather a portrait, I like the sharp details on the face and the perfect light,Saeed

Hi Hugo. Once more a great momment. As others said, the angle gives the photo all the emotion of this man. Would be possible to shoot without those reflexes on his glasses? Cheers

Excellent portrait with perfect lighting, tones and detail! Very moving story. What interests me is the effect this has on them so very many years later. Not just that it has completely changed their world and way of doing things, but that the emotional wounds of the disaster are still so fresh. Carolyn

Thanks Hugo, the POS was really unexpected, but I?m happy for this of course. Also this face is very interesting, he has a strong expression and he seems to be intensely thinking, maybe to the sad story you talked about. I like the angle, just a bit different from the usual portraits, the viewer is not at the same level, not only photographically, but also emotionally and this lets better understand the great pain of these people. Hugs Max

Excellent close-up Hugo, perfect lighting, cropping and angle. White BG enhances it at all. Cheers, Carmem
PS: when I said "upgrade" I was talking my film Olympus.. it?s perfect... I need just to learn how to use it better, like you do.. to get better results, without wasting films and money. I was talking about my digital canon A300...that allows me just f5.6 and f3.6... and its 5.0mm diameter lens... can you get what I mean? Thank you, Hugo. Nice weekend Carmem

Very good portrait. This gentleman looks like having a conversation with you. The pose looks like these at magazines and I like it. Not a fake poze but a natural, at the conversation motions. Very good.

This will be a fine tryptich, Hugo. I enjoyed the first one of the three, your smiling friend, but you had enough comments there already by the time I noticed it. This is a fine, strong face... sensitively and beautifully captured.

Hi Neil, I wasn't of much help to these people, I only acted as an outlet to let them tell their moving stories. This series was used on Duch television in a report, covering the part what happened to the people in Duzaj 40 years after the eartquake.
And yes, A very serious comment! The mind works in mysterious ways... doesn't it?
Cheers,
Hugo
