Thanks for the advise. Yes I am going for the dark look and feel but want a more sharper picture. This was taking at around 9:30-10PM at night with no back lighting and from a distance. I must have taken around 50 or so shots of this one scene fooling around with ISO settings to see what I could get out of it. I'll continue to try and hopefully the future ones are better. Thanks again!

Night shots and moon are very difficult. The moon moves when using long shutter speeds. I use the fastest possible av shutter speed while using lowest aperature.....practice..the best thing about digital!!!!

i haven't taken many night photos but one thing i learned is that i had to at least have the last remnants of daylight if i did attempt them. i don't know what time you took this photo, but if you had taken it around or just after sunset, i think it would be much improved. unless of course, you really are after a dark photo....
