Thanks Linn - I really appreciate the time you took to give me your feedback and know that you had thought about this image before posting a comment. This is helpful and important to me. You, like all of those who view and post comments, here at UF are what makes this site my first choice. If only all of the world could come together as is done by photographers on this site it would be a much better planet.
Best to you,
Bill

Bill, would you believe that this image was the last thing on my mind before I hit the bed last night? Like John, I would want to see more flower (I am very greedy for pink!) and less of the black. Having read your additional comment this morning, I now understand why you had to compose it the way you did. I would love to see another image of this flower, larger though. I love the way the pink ripples on the petals. Linn

Very pretty orchid. Growing this species in Canada must be pretty hard. Great job, Bill. This is a superb close up. The orchid id so delicate and te colours soft and beautiful. Well composed image. Superb caoture Regards - Emgy

Hi Bill,
Another pretty and delicate flower. I have never seen this orchid, even in books that I can remember! I'm glad you shared it with us!

Hi John - Thanks for your comments. This image was taken for submission for and ad, thus the extra space at the top and black background. The slide is MUCH better than this scan and the light looks better. I agree though that this can get better. When it blooms again I will give it another go. It will go up when this happens.
Regards - Bill

A lovely flower to be sure, but the photo leaves me wanting more. If you grow these yourself is it not possible to get a little more light on it?
The photo seems soft (possibly because of the long exposure) and the large area of dark above the subject seems unnecesary.
