Kim, I love your shots of these dogs! But this one is especially beautiful with the afternoon rays shining on his coat! I really really like this one a lot! You have lovely photos, and I really like your work a lot! Will have to look more later!

I think this is one of my favourite dog portraits of yours. I like his expression and how his coat looks a bit wet - kind of gives him a "grizzled old coot" expression/demeanor that really comes across well. The foreground is interesting but not distracting, suitable and well exposed. The background colour is, as mentioned, completely fine. Unfortunately, I find the tilt of the cabin to be a bit vertigo-inducing.
P.S.: Are you ready for the Saturday Slideshow of Awfulness? ;)

That magic light is beautiful, and it is the perfect light to emphasize Jake's golden tones. His similarity to the background color is not bothersome at all, probably because he is separated from the background via good use of DOF.
You really captured his wisdom...but I'm a sucker for dog photos! He is really a handsome animal.

Cute, indeed. Jake is far too mature and handsome to be subjected to the indignity of "cute".
But I gotta admit, he is a real doll, eh.
Great light, expression, etc.

Very nice dog portrait. Nicely captured ! ( Also thanks for your comment. Beige in the loch photo is the sand which you can see through the water, not the sky. Sorry I can not crop it, this wold not be my concept as an artist.) Bravo for your portfolio Kind regards from Jan

Boy, you couldn't have asked for better light to photograph a golden retriever, could you? This is a really beautiful portrait - such dignity in his eyes, with just a touch of the gray coming in along his snout. The background works beautifully with the tones echoing those in Jake's coat, and the deeper shadows placed perfectly behind his head, setting it off with it's own 'frame.' Really beautifully done, Kim - I'm sure he's proud! :)

That's tough light to shoot in, but you've done it beautifully. Nice rich, warm feeling.
