Hi Robert,
Happy Birthday again!
No, I wasn't online at midnight; had to sleep. I think we're in the same timezone, right?
I was a bit surprised when Linn asked me to mail her and didn't know what to expect. Then she explained her idea and I liked it! Feels special when someone wants you to shoot a photo of something, but at the same moment my (lack of) confidence makes me a bit nervous.
So I went through my stock of 4500 travel-pic's and only when you would have been a VW Beetle addict I could provide immediatly :-)
On a day I went to shoot at Kinderdijk (Holland, with lots of windmills, never been there before and near my hometown!) I made up my mind about what the result had to be like: a badge of an old Alfa. Driving around, without any rain and lots of sun, I couldn't find an old Alfa.
That's when plan B was initiated: a nice badge of an alfa-red Alfa: That one I found nearby and with only 4 frames left on my roll of film (still only half digital...) I had to be carefull.
Well, it worked out, with a lot of people wondering why the @#$ I was shooting a Alfa on the street.
2 days ago I found the Alfa I was looking for, but the dealine had passed, so....
I'm glad you like it and first of all you have to thank Linn (again) for setting up this international project.
Now let's grab a beer to celebrate!

Jeroen, you don't seem to be on line at present, maybe you're on assignment in outer Mongolia, Guatamala or New Zealand or some other far off place , but I would like to thank you for helping Linn with this birthday surprise. It couldn't have been easy to find an Alfa Romeo in Bangkok :-). The gift is much appreciated.

Chris, I've enroled Linn on a PS Elements course and I'm hoping that one day she will be able to produce superb work such as this! Thanks again for putting together this wonderful collage. I still can't believe Linn took the photos of the GTV while driving, but it is a local licence plate so I guess it is so. Regards, Robert

Another one? It really feels like my birthday! Actually it will be in 10 minute's time, Linn is a bit exhausted and came into my office, made me stop working and asked me to check for images on UF. Thanks Chicken for organising this, and thanks again Chris for putting it all together so artistically. Jeroen and Stephen, I'm sorry my wife forced you out into the rain to gather the images, but at least she also had to do her bit in the rain! That reminds me, I'll have to investigate this driving my car in the rain while taking photos. This is really a fantastic present. I'm going to be staying up for a few more hours I guess!
