Thanks for your comments. When I look at the photo, I remember 'being there,' and the magic of the day. I see the fence in my mind from a different perspective, and I feel the heat of the Khmer sun.
Your comment reminds me that a photo has to take the viewer someplace, not just the photographer. I appreciate your insight.
That having been said, I like the composition reasonably well.
About a third of the frame is taken up with an out of focus hunk of stone, which is separated from that tiny portion of the fence which is in focus, and neither of which leads the eye to anything. The background is very busy with nothing of particular interest. This just doesn't work for me.
