Bizarre, bold... and compelling. Easily one of your best. Bravo.

Had one go nova on me years ago. Now Ive got a scar on my stomach that I tell people is from a gunshot wound! Gets a much better reaction :)

Yes, David, that's the irony. Now I have to watch this star chart with an entirely different agenda. One day one of those "stars" may nova and signal the collapse of my own universe....

When I was growing, a queer little boy in the rednecked hills of Idaho, before I even knew what being queer really was, I always imagined I was from another planet. Heck, from age 7 to age 11 I actually believed it. As I aged, and moles appeared across my body, I reasoned it was a secret map, hidden in plain sight, to help me one day find my way to the real place I was meant to be...

I try not to look at titles of art, lest they influence my perception of it. Especially, I try to avoid Mister Caldwell's clever titles. But this one caught my eye before I could look away. And it's such a beautiful title for such a beautiful photograph. Interestingly, doctors often refer to an arrangement of moles, freckles, or scars as a "constellation."
