About This series of abstracts was shot as an study of lines and composition.

I decided to leave this image virtually unchanged, as I like the grainy effect, created by the digital zoom of my C5050z. I also deliberately left it in colour, as I think the soft early morining light adds more to this image than a B&W or sepia. Hope you agree....;o)

Actual settings: 1/800' @ f4,0 and 400 ASA.

Cheers,

Hugo

hugo, great job catching that shadow!! i would've looked right past it and wondered what they'll be feeding me on the flight. ;^) i agree with the grain comments others have made. however, i took some shots last week during a flight to LA and had the same problem. i had to use ISO 400 to get any kind of exposure through those filthy scratched windows. i got a few decent ones but they came out VERY grainy. so i can empathise. at least you got one that was worth posting ;^)

funny story: i was shooting out my window with an 80-400mm pushed all the way out to 400mm. the stewardess (oops, "flight attendant") came by and with great surprise said "wow!! what the HELL kind of camera is THAT??" ;^)

Groeten Tim.

This abstract suits perfectly in your study of lines and composition and I like it more than your previous on account of both the composition and the colours. I particularly like the gradient blue. Beautiful "futuristic feel" to this one, Hugo.
Well seen and superbely captured
Hugs - Emgy

Great Hugo!!!! The composition and the colors are great!!! The grainy effects gives it life of it own... This is much better than the first one.. (Maybe it is because now I know what I am seeing)...

Cheers,

Maria

P.S. Thanks for your comments on the "The Thorns", I decided to frame it like you saw it, because I wanted to give it "a rustic mexican touch"... I felt real good that besides the frame you like it!!!!

Nice one got some variation of colours, and shadows, another warning "No Step", lovely composition, I think this is a Communication/radio antenna, another "pilot external check", Saeed

Hi Neil, You are right about the ASA setting; 50 would've been plenty, but it was sooooooh early... Could barely take this shot without dozing off....;o) Yep, I have a few digitals too. The olympus, and I recently got myself a D100. No more scanning problems...;o)

Cheers,

Hugo

Groeten Hugo,
I too find this one better than the first.
I like the light coming up from the bottom and the soft pastel colours. I didn't know you had a digital camera Hugo! I know you are a fan of these fast films/ASA/ISO but i would have reduced it to 50, you would still have plenty of light and maybe the noise would be a little less, but that is a matter of taste. One last question :) does "morining" actually mean the same as "morning" :) Couldn't resist that one sorry! See your about!
Cheers Neil

Dat klopt, de foto is bijna lood recht op de motor genomen.... Maar daar doe je weinig aan... Dank je voor je commentaar, Teunis! Een iets drie dimensionaler plaatje zou beter zijn geweest, denk ik.

Groeten,

Hugo

Hugo, i also like this one much more,
because i think the composition is stonger than the previous one and soft light is doing a very good job in this one,

Groetjes, Rob.

Gerhard Hoogterp   {K:4863} 5/18/2004
The color is nice and the composition is good. Pity it's a bit soft and grainy, but I guess that's mostly due to the window. Actualy I like thisone better than the previous one.
