About Some of you may have heard about the Brood X cicadas that are coming out in various parts of the United States. This is a soon-to-be adult emerging from its nymph shell after feeding underground for 17 years. I've not tested it myself, but some have said that this is the "tasty stage."

John - regarding the cicada shot. Tripod yes (I'd say about 85% of my shots are taken with a tripod). Lighting was high overcast - no flash or reflector.

Great shot, Bob. Ugly little cuss. I don't think it will find its way onto my menu any time soon. Lou
