About Last night, when I was so excited about having gone manual on aperture, I commented that soon I will find something else to be excited about. Little did I know that today would bring more excitement - being chosen as "Featured Donor".

To Altaf, UseFilm staff and my peers - a heartfelt gratitude that you are recognising my work and dedication. It was a wonderful surprise!

To celebrate ... my favourite colour :-)

Hi Eren

After enquiring about where the drop shadow should or should not be, it seems there is no hard and fast rule. Some people feel that it should fall on the opposite side from where the light comes from, others feel that there is something like artistic freedom. So, I guess I will be doing my drop shadows where I feel comfortable with it, knowing that it is not distracting.

Tks for the interest though.

Hi Eren

Got to differ here. I don't think this faded edge/frame suits my image at all. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Hi Linn, well I found the drop shadow distracting because its on the wrong side of the photo. Its done with photoshop so yes you can put it anywhere you want but looking in the means of what normal is it would be on the right hand side and the bottom. So it made me think ok why is this shadow on the left hand side, and thats what made me think its distracting. Its good simple framing but i find it on the wrong hand side. I know its the default in PS but you can change it. I'm generally not very fond of framings unless they are elegant or clever. A good example is Alexey's framings here. There are too many possibilities to send here but what i attach is something that also does good to the photo because the left and right upper corner could benefit from a cover. So just another possibility i think.

Hi Eren
Thanks for the comment. I'm not sure why you find the soft drop distracting? Could you perhaps come up with what you think would be most suitable for this image and attach it in a comment?
