WOW, Ray! Excellent image! A while ago, I left a comment on one of your images saying I usually don't like photos like that - WELL THIS is the type of people photos I do like, very thought-provoking artistic and moody! The tones are excellent to convey the emotions of the image. Exceptional job! This is really an image to be proud of! WOW!!!!!

Thanks Rawabi. No, no offense was taken at all! Thank you for the kind words. I love Usefilm because it seems that people at this site take the time to discuss photography instead of simply clicking a rating and moving on. I see what you mean about setting goals. That is the perfect way to learn. Thanks for sharing it all here.

oh Ray I hope I didn't offend you...! I didn't really know what you meant by the pic.. I thought it was his home..!! that he's too busy working to really take care of his house! :P sorry!
regarding your photos.. I love them!!! this is why I added you to my friends to be able to check them regularly!! I'm not at all for sticking to one type of photography.. if you checked my earlier postings you'd see that I've done a lot of different types: children, animal, still life, street, animals again! :P ... etc but I tend to focus on something till I get the most out of it.. then go to the next step.. what I mean is that every now and then I come up with a certain goal I need to achieve.. at first struggled with composition.. then with cats.. later on I focused on portraits.. and finally got over my flower-phobia!!! I was actually intimidated by floral shots..! so first I focused on lighting techniques.. then macro.. now I'm trying to achieve the perfect exposure (without the need to adjust it in PS).. day after day you'll succeed :) I've been a member of usefilm for almost a whole year now..! & learned a LOT.. :)

Rawabi,
This was my uncle in a dumpy motel room in a small Texas town and I just had to take the picture. The ironing board was being used for a foot rest! I thought this most be a good example of the miserable life of an insurance salesman or door-to-door salesman while on the road. Small dumpy hotel, no way to get comfortable away from home in a small town with no entertainment. Anyway, I thought it was different.
Rawabi, I admire your photography because you have a particular style that you stick with most of the time. There are street photographers, portrait photographers, still life photographers, landscape photographers, nature photographers and so on. For me, I am just a typical amateur photographer with no focus (other than thru the viewfinder). As my portfolio shows, I see it and I shoot it. I should probably try to focus more on a particular type of photography.
Regards, Ray
