About This flower resembles a limp umbrella when seen from the sides. A rather unique difference from the other PF I posted recently. A beautiful floral variety!

Hehehe ... you should see my set-up! I think the professionals will kill themselves laughing at my primitive "outdoor studio" :-))) Robert (hubby) has been a great help and he is always on stand-by to come up with more ideas when I run into problems.

Regarding the nurseries ... yeah, I know the feeling:-) First time visits they always give me the "stare" (but I do ask for permission first) and as I go along, they seem to relax. I think what helps is the fact that I crawl around on the muddy/wet pathways and don't care :-)) Once they get to know you, they treat you like an old friend and even point out new arrivals.

Right now our nurseries are almost void of flowering plants :-( I will either have to keep on spending my money on store-bought flowers or I will have to start digging up old ones and make abstracts!

Thank you Linn, I have thought of bringing an assistant who could hold a black BG board behind some of my flower shots when I go visiting the nurseries. The problem is finding that someone and also whether or not I would be allowed to do such a thing w/o disturbing the flowers for sale.

In addition, some of these places get nervous when you get too close to your subjects. Perhaps they think you are going to fall in or something. Each nursery is a bit different so I will try and work on this.

At home its a different story and what I have now, is a small collection of thin poster boards but would need a better set-up of poles and clips with stronger (1/4"+) matt boards to advance on the idea. A studio in progress!
We keep working till we get it right 'eh?
Cheers!

Stunning flower! Great details Bill - I am soooo envious :-))

Have you thought of getting a piece of black velvet that you could drap under your object? I am thinking that maybe it would have suited this flower? I must still get myself a piece - I keep on forgetting!
