About A promotional shot for a Tai Chi series we are producing. My first time trying out shooting in a television studio with all those tungsten lights... and me with FujiNPH 400, daylight.
PS work - slight desaturation to correct the NPH, blur, and copyright.

I still think that people shots are my weakest form of photography... hopefully with practice I'll get better!

This one has the same interesting (and very cool!) color quality as your other Tai-Chi photo. That blue is absolutely amazing - the vibrant colors and dappled lights and shadows give this a storybook feel that I think is just wonderful!
I think it might have been better to have shot this one step further to the right, positioning the man's head between the column and the window.

I like the dreamy feel of this photo. Not sure if it is the light/film mismatch but it looks a little unreal to me, but in a good way if you know what I mean... It does feel like there is artificial blur on the background and I am not too fond of that, although I am sure it one of the contributing factors to the aforementioned dreamy quality... On the balance - thumbs up!

Quiet stillness, at the heart of meditation, well captured. I like the peripheral blur, though his head and shoulder silhouette feels a little over-sharpened. Even at 2.8 that red post is a little distracting.

I've already told you how much I like this - the strong, saturated blues, reds and greens really make the shot. Did you add extra blur? I think the photo would have been fine without it. If I recall, the original had a shallow DOF, but your subject was 100% sharp - he looks a bit softer now. And one thing I didn't notice before - there's a pole coming out of his head! Johnson & Handel would not approve. ;p

Did your employers like this shot? I can't see how they wouldn't . . . order up those 8X10 glossies!
