The tracking worked very well on this one, Roger, but I found it much more difficult with the birds of prey at the Falconry ~ I think because they were that much closer.
I've only just discovered the burst mode function, so didn't use it with this gull pic. The D70 is supposed to shoot at around 3 frames per second. I don't know about that, but if you hold your finger on the shutter it'll shoot around 20 off virtually continuously! Amazing!! Kind regards, Chris

Hi Chris, can't quite understand the low number of comments on this one. I know I'm late myself, and more are likely to follow, but this is one superb piece of work. Very strong shot, and very well cropped. I like the sharpness and the high level of details in this one. Great capture!
Cheers,
Hugo

So how WAS the continuous focus mode? Did you combine it with the rapid sequence mode so you could see how the focus was changing throughout a series of shots? This one is fine, of course.

Hi Den, Thanks for alerting me to the fact that I put down the wrong lens for this one. I actually used the 70-300mm ~ fully out! ~ so was especially pleased with the clarity and sharpness! Kind regards, Chris

Absolutely TREMENDOUS Chris. I can't say more! This is why I want a D70. Was it really with 28-80mm lense? Heartiest congratulations my friend. You're really getting to grips with a great tool. Den

Or 'soriety'?? LOL (sp?)
I like this Chris, good camera you have there, but your work has always been good. Looks like the Nikon D70 is doing a great focusing job! Nice work!

Chris, this is great. Not just the fact that you got the gull so sharp in continious mode (which our little Z1 is not very good at) but this is a great compo. The colours of the gull and the overall image (including the frame) are so complimentary to each other.
I like this a LOT!
Linn
