Thank you for the time you spent on my portfolio and your comments - much appreciated :-) And there is nothing wrong with your English :-)
Yes, I hear what you say about the stalk and leaves. Remember that these are all store-bought flowers and they are not always in prime condition (don't you just hate seeing how rough they work with the flowers?). Another factor is that I concentrate on the flower itself and because of that, most of the leaves are out of the frame.
I had to resort to buying flowers and using a background as we are in our Winter season and the gardens/nurseries are void of any colour. Nothing will give me more joy than to get back into "natural" floral images, like the ones going back in my portfolio.

What I womder about your photos of flowers... you always keep out the stalk...of the flower...
The stalk can give the flower some 'movements'... some curves... give it more grace...sort of..
Hm.. Sorry my English has some limits..but I think it would make your great photos more 'alive'

Linn, Well,well! You finally posted the pic of your set up. Not bad if I may say so. Alot better then what I have going for myself right now.(I even saw an ad recently for those snaky things that hold the flowers,etc up.) Nice going on this rig. Your pics are much better from it for sure!

This is cool Linn Nothing cheap about you eh LOLOLOL . Whatever you do young lady it is workin well for you . Oh so what you using for lite as I see your blocking out all the sun LOL . ?? Do you use speed lites or should I say Electronic lighting . Anyway sweetie your studio is great as I love to see intovation LOL can't spell the darn word lol in people and you got ithat sweetie . ps: Thanks for the nice words on my sunset I overcorected it by about 3/4 of a degree to the left but I will fix that when it goes to final print on canvus . Linn a fantastic story. I had a laugh about your humoristic appraoch to this matter. I shoot everything inside with incoming daylight. In a sunshowered country like ZA that should not be a problem. Overhere photographing outside is a gamble, either rain or hard wind or both. Thanks for showing it  )) Rob.

Linn, you're absolutely great and your little set-up is very cool.
No, I didn't fall off my chair laughing and I didn't need to pick myself up off the floor. I think your creation is amazing and very inspiring. I hope you have a roof above it for unexpected rain. You're lucky you can shoot in your garden. It would be almost impossible in this country when even in Summer it rains more often than not.
Excellent capture. I'm curious about your Labbie, your empty coffee mug and a view of your garden with bird feeders. That would be the entire picture, wouldn't it?. - Your next post?

nice to finally see your setup. You (both) have built this one in little time and while it might be not very 'Pro', for sure it's very practical! At least, it looks like it is.....
So, the black velvet is the key to your current succes? Hmm, maybe I forget something here, it's called 'Talent'. Can't order that on Internet!!
You have made a major improvement in a short period and I'm very sure you will get even better. Wait and see how far you will have come in a year! I bet, you're not using a Z1 anymore by then.....maybe a D70 with a good Macro lens, like a Tamron 90mm? If you do so, you'll be able to sell some images.
The road to perfection is a wonderful experience, isn't it? Don't you just love to experiment?
One minor thing: it costs lots of time, but I have the feeling you have plenty of that, being busy with your ragdolls as well.
Ok, that's it for now and promise us you will show us your setup be the end of this year again to see the differences.

Your talking lenses (sp) I would need a panoramic lens with a strong filter to counter act the glare. Love your stuff girl keep it coming.

Heck Ellen, you calling me "a legend in the making"?? Now that joke has lifted the last of the old mood :-) Seriously though ... what's the use of being "down"? Just a waste of life and energy! So yes, mood is long gone but the yearning is still there though :-)
As for me being in front of the Z1 - will have to get a super wide lens first! Or at least invest in a wide-brimmed hat and over-sized sunglasses ... pink of course :-)

But the other thing we don't have in this picture, dear Linn, is the most important 'thing' of all ~ that is, the person who has the vision, composes the image, sets up the camera and ultimately presses the shutter! YOU!!!
It' about time we saw the face behind the Z1, so give Robbie the camera and get loading! :>)

I realy appreciate that you want to share this with us.
I dont have a private garden anymore,so I do the most setups in my appartment,next to the window.And of course we dont have that sunny weather here.It is summer here but it has been raining the last couple of days and not warmer than 20 degrees celcius.
My camera ,as most digital cameras has problems with highlights,so I dont need direct sunlight anyway.
Those mc clamps look very usefull,I must get some.(Never ever ordered something on the internet though.)
Keep up your very creative work.
