About This species of Skimmer are very approachable if you can find them out early in the morning. I captured this image last Friday morning in my backyard. This is a wild and free Dragonfly. To clear any doubts, I did not catch and hold him for this shot. To get this shot, I had the end of my lens 1/4" from the tip of his wing. Nikon D100, Nikon 80-200mm f/2.8d @ 92mm, 68mm of extension tube (Kenko-3 piece tube set), ISO-200, Ambient light only, 1.3 seconds @ f/20, NEF Raw, Tripod: Mirror lockup activated and 10 second timer, Crop: About 50% of original, Post processing: USM and levels only, Time/Date: 7/16/04 @ 6:58am.

This is just insane! You should work for national geographic, if you don't already. :) Simply amazing, but you've heard it all before I'm sure.

Imageopolis Featured Photo Critique Fantastic, and I believe your approach, I found one during a rain last weekend stuck to my screen door. I moved him to a painted part of the porch, off the screen and got a shot close up. ( I'll never post it ;-) )
Your macros only continue to get better and better. this one is amazing who would have thought they have so much hair and spines on them. Great stuff Ronnie.
